FAQ’s
Q: What grades can come to elevate?
A: Elevate is specifically for current 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
Q: Can my student bring friends?
A: Uh….DUH! We love growing the Elevate family!
Q: I don’t own a bible, is that ok?
A: It is completely ok, and we would also love to give you your very own Bible!
Q: How can I get in conTact with my student’s small group leader?
A: Great question! We love when parents and leaders get connected together. You can CLICK HERE to email us and we will get you connected together.
Q: Do you have a set curriculum you follow? or do you find trends or events that are currently going on?
A: We do not have a "set” curriculum, but we do look at the life of a Junior Higher and find the topics/ideas/current events that are relevant and most important to the season of life they are in. We base our series and content off of this information. Example: Stress/Anxiety, Relationships/Dating, Being young, etc.
Q: Are students allowed to bring cell phones, gaming devices or sports equipment?
A: We encourage students to come as they are, and sometimes that comes with distractions. If telling a student they can’t bring something with them would prevent them from coming at all, then we will do whatever we can to get them here. There are specific times where we ask students to put those items away so that the most important pieces of the night are distraction free.
Q: What does a typical night at Elevate look like?
A: Students begin arriving around 630p to hang out and play video games, listen to music, play basketball, eat snacks and much more! At 7p we bring everyone into the Elevate room for a big game, which breaks the ice and gets the energy pumping. Next, we jump into a time of worship where we can sing, dance and praise God together. After that, we dive into God’s word with a message (sermon) to see what the Bible and God have for us for a specific topic or idea in our lives. Right after that, we send the students to small groups where they get to continue the conversation with their age/gender based small group and with a consistent leader who is with them each and every week. At 9p, the pick up process begins where we get students back with their parents to head home for the night.
Q: How early can i drop my student off? How late can i pick my student up?
A: Doors open at 630p for preservice hangout. Pick up is at 9p for students to head home. If you ever need special arrangements, feel free to contact us and let us know! We would love to help out in any way possible.
Q: Who can i contact if there is an issue with my student?
A: You can email Blaze, our Elevate Pastor, anytime! Click Here to email him directly.
Q: Do students have to be a part of north coast on the weekends to be able to come to tuesday nights?
A: No, you do not have to be a weekend attender to be able to come on Tuesdays. We would love for every student who comes on Tuesday nights to join us at a weekend service and every student who joins us on the weekends to come Tuesdays, but anyone/everyone is welcome to both!
Q: What is the best way for parents to know what’s going on?
You’re on it! Our website is loaded with everything you ever need to know. We also give as many details as possible via our Instagram account @ElevateJH
Q: Are parents allowed to pop in randomly and check out elevate?
A: We always want to be fully transparent with our parents. We ask that parents let an Elevate Staff member know if they are planning on sticking around. Security for our students is one of our top priorities and we need to know everyone who is on our campus while we have students there.
Q: What is the process for adults to be involved with my student?
A: Every adult who wants to get connected with Elevate goes through a full background check, as well as an application and interview process with our Elevate Staff. Security and trust are two of our top priorities. We want every parent to know that we are protecting and looking out for every student and family member that is a part of Elevate and North Coast.
Q: How can i get involved with Elevate?
You can email Blaze and we would love to talk with you and see how we can get you involved and in whatever capacity you are looking for. We have so many different roles to make Elevate happen on the weekends and Tuesdays. Come join the Elevate family!
